This should be a cool forum. Commenting on everything from A to Z - AAF.
I think this league has a real chance of sustaining itself - if they stick to the current format. Teams being placed in large enough cities, Atlanta being the exception, that current don't have an NFL franchise. And I think it is unrealistic to expect these teams to fill 80,000 seat stadiums. The Alamodome may be the biggest in the league. And they can tarp off part of the seats.
I like the no kickoff rule, and the always going for two. At least with the no kickoff - I wonder if we will see that rule migrate to the NFL.
Keeping in mind that this is a developmental league - the play has not been NFL quality. But if you equate this league to a MLB farm system - it is right where it needs to be. There are guys in this league who will get NFL shots. And then - Christian Hackenburg is showing why he is not on an NFL roster.
The lifeblood of this league is the television contract with the different networks. One thing that needs paid attention to is the watchability of these teams, i.e. the color contrast of the uniforms as they portray on TV. I was watching the Atlanta at San Diego game last Sunday. I really like both sets of uniforms - but those together on the same field at the same time - hard to follow who was who.
