As mentioned in another thread, PFF has us at 6th for the O-line.
Now, ESPN has us as the #3 skill group.
Geezuz that's high. We've never been that highly ranked at the same time. Like I've said elsewhere, it's all on Bake and Stef. Even with CoVid, this unit ought to equal playoffs.
Got a link to that ESPN article or anything Ocon? I mean shit we have a lot of talent at the skill positions, I certainly won't argue it. Baker poised to bounce back, OBJ/Landry, Chubb, our TE's... I won't argue 3rd on paper.

(crap, still only occasionally seeing the paper clip icon for a link lol)
I find I have to paste the link, then select the text. Once you've selected the text (like you wanna copy/paste, then the paperclip pops up to hyperlink the text.
So it's #2, not 3? Brooks had us #1 for our core five (OBJ/Landry/Chubb/Hunt/Hooper) and it is really tough to top.
Once we play actual games and the rook settles in, I think our OL could be one of the very best. All told, and assuming certain things about Baker, our offensive personnel on the whole is tough to top. Right there.
The only reason to NOT predict 11+ wins is caution and the pain of 2019... because on paper, we're one of the best five rosters in the league.
Ha. You’re right. 2019 was 3 lol
I think our personnel last year were top notch (outside of the T's), but the play calling was a complete disaster.
It's just one example, but Baker (and the offense) was excellent throwing out of play-action last year... so we did it very little, near the bottom of the league. If Baltimore leaned into Lamar on an A+ level, like sculpted the offense around him, we literally sprinted in the opposite direction.
It took so much effort to turn that much talent into shit.
It's nice to know that we continue to stand out on paper, and I think to go from 3rd to 2nd this year shows that we have added to what was arguably ample. I really hope we see results on the field but we will see. A peruse of the article, some random thoughts: It's cool to look at the trends. -9th to 17th to 28th... the Bears have slid mightily. -Colts drop from 12 to 26 is pretty big as well. -9th to 21st for New England -Arizona from 27th to 9th -Carolina up from 22nd to 5th
As far as proof and pudding and all that, I'm also optimistic based on the upgrade in playcallers, to PFF's 2019 #4 (Stefanski) from wherever the hell you'd rank Freddie among middle-school flag football strategic wunderkinds.
Better players, better coach, weaker defenses (literally can't get any worse on that front)... if we can get past the COVID issues early on, it really should add up to awesomeness.
I am so despondent on the past coaching staff that it won't take much coaxing for me to get on the Stefanski train (he needs a nickname... I know next to nothing about him though I suppose I need to do some reading in that regard).
Recently reminded that Tannehill got back on the map (and rich) with this Shanny offense. It's brought the best out of him, Jimmy G., and Cousins... and Baker is better than all three.
Something would have to go very wrong for it not to go very right. Scheme meets talent meets playcaller.
