The aftermath of the Brownsâ win over the Ravens in Week Four has been filled with arguments about whether Ravens cornerback Marlon Humphrey choked Browns wide receiver Odell Beckham during an in-game scuffle.
Thatâs overshadowed the plays that actually decided who won or lost the game. Chief among those plays were Browns running back Nick Chubbâs three second half touchdown runs.
Chubb scored twice in the third quarter as the Browns built a two-touchdown lead and then broke free for an 88-yard score in the fourth quarter that helped put the icing on the cake for Cleveland. Chubb finished the day with 20 carries for 165 yards.
The NFL announced on Wednesday that Chubb has been named the AFCâs offensive player of the week in recognition of that effort. Itâs the first time heâs taken home the award.
Yes, and I see All-Pro Jerry Rice says that Jim Brown should be considered the greatest player in the modern era of football (1950's to current). Now, I'm not comparing NC to JB but, wouldn't it be ironic if we drafted another similar JB guy. I saw Jim play in person when he ripped off a similar run for 75 yards vs the Giants like Nick did against the Ravens. They're are similar in persona while on the field. Humble, efficient and professional in doing their job.
