I thought about writing an opinion piece on this, but I tried a few different times and just got frustrated.
I understand we're in a smallish market compared to other teams, but why did the Indians essentially close their World Series window for no reason. They're basically done "adding" pieces to this team after losing a bunch of quality players.
I doubt getting worse is going to help us bring back players like Lindor. This seems completely inorganic.
I think it solidifies Lindor leaving. No reason for him to stay.
Pretty disappointing.
Bingo! I heard on The Fan the other day they have heard that ship has sailed already.
I just don't get it. They drain the farm system to trade for oldish players on short term contracts and bring NONE of them back. NONE.
So now we have no players and no farm system. All for a three year window that ultimately turned into a one year window.
This is why people hate the Dolans. Cleveland media doesn't get it. 10 years of mediocrity for three years of good is not how you keep fans interested. And if you can never keep the good players on the team, why go to the games?
