The Dolan's cannot feed me the shit sandwich they did and expect me to tell them it tasted good. Dolan's Discounts at work again.
How in the world can they, with a straight face, justify trading Gio Urshela and his stellar defense, in favor of Eric Stamets??? So what if he only hit .250? Stamets would have a wet dream if he hit the .250 mark. Plus you have Gio's stellar defense.
Then we doubled down on our stupidity when Gio was released by Toronto - we failed to swoop in and resign him. I wanna smack someone silly. Now Gio is in NY. Well, good for him - he is where he is wanted. Check this bad boy out.
I am still smoking about this trade - two years later. YOU JUST DON'T TRADE ALL STAR DEFENSE AT THE HOT CORNER!!!!!
It makes about as much sense as trading a stud left handed starting pitcher in the prime of his career. (Wait - we fumbled that ball too.)
Ya know - I'm done being mad at the front office for shipping Gio out of town. Their recent track record proves that they know what they are doing with VERY limited resources. But even the most stellar GMs have the occasional blip on their radar. This one may be Antonetti and Chernoff's; Dorsey's may be Corbett.
I still wish that Gio was here, but the fact that he is having success elsewhere - good on him.
