Man, I like this kid's tape. Seems like a foregone conclusion that the Browns will trade Duke Johnson. And when they do - Ozigbo could be waiting in the wings. Big powerful back with a better body frame to absorb the hits inside the tackles. But he has good speed to get away from those hits too.

Ozigbo is a really interesting prospect. I love love love his vision and feet. You can't teach his instincts as a runner. He's patient, let's the blocks develop and rarely makes the wrong decision. His quick feet for his size is a huge plus, most big backs can't move like him laterally. It's why you see so many second chance yards with him. Being tough to tackle from a size/strength perspective coupled with the ability to throw defenders off with your agility is something special.
I see a lot of Arian Foster in him.
Let me put my John Dorsey sweatshirt on and analyze the effects of trading Duke Johnson. The potential trade of Duke would affect not one, but two position rooms in Berea.
The immediate impact of this proposed trade would be we secure more draft capital. I would have to think that this SHOULD be no less than a third rounder. That would be a nice piece of draft day ammunition to use to move around in the draft if need be. But what does that leave in its wake?
The most gaping hole this moves leaves is at the backup running back position. If Chubb needs a breather, or God forbid he goes down with a significant injury - you are left with Dontrell Hilliard. Good role player, but nowhere close to an NFL feature back. You know I have stated in the past that I do NOT favor signing FA running backs. I would fill this hole via the draft.
There are three really attractive options to do this. My first choice would be LJ Scott of Michigan State (a Hubbard, OH native). Next up would be this player, Devine Ozigbo. And lastly, I would go to Columbus and tag RB Mike Weber. All three would be more than adequate to plug that hole.
The other area to address would be the wide receiver room. Duke was not an outside guy, and slot receivers are easier to find. We might try FA. Tyrell Williams, if brought in, could team with Antonio Callaway on the outside. That moves Landry into the slot - where he is most dangerous. With those positions spoken for, we still have Rashard Higgins, Jaelen Strong, Derek Willies, and Damion Ratley.
I hardly think we would miss Duke as a WR.
Didn't mean to hijack this thread, but we could trade Duke, pick up ammo - and not miss a beat. Zig would be part of that solution.
Excellent points.
@Chillzilla You know - I thought of all of that stuff without even considering Kareem Hunt. Which is probably smart thinking, because given the NFL's position on DV - I would be flabbergasted if Kareem received anything less than an 8 game suspension.
