Here is where I have the Browns making their move if they do go up into the first round. Teams like the Chiefs at 29 and the Patriots at 32 are other spots to watch. But even though they went corner last year with Denzel Ward, the Browns could look close to home again to round out their secondary.
At 6-foot-2, Layne, a Benedictine alum, is a great complement to Ward, giving the Browns someone who can cover taller receivers. It’s also not a bad idea to take him as insurance after Ward sustained two concussions. Layne probably won’t be available at 49. So in order to get him, they surrender two second-round picks and Duke Johnson.
Raiders receive: Duke Johnson, 49th pick, 2020 second-round pick
Other possible trade-up targets: Delaware safety Nasir Adderley, Washington cornerback Byron Murphy, Mississippi State defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons, Alabama linebacker Mack Wilson
I don't like the idea of giving up our 2020 second-round pick. jmho
