Walsh Jesuit High School in Cuyahoga Falls is really the prep equivalent to the NFL
Pittsburgh Steelers when it comes to head coaches.
The school opened its doors to students in the fall of 1965. Bill Ricco was the team's first head coach, but he proved to be the right choice - holding that position for 15 years until he retired in 1979. He has earned a 94-14-1 over those 15 years. He turned the program over to his assistant, Gerry Rardin.
Rardin took the opportunity and ran with it. He led the Warriors for the next 35 years, retiring after the 2014 season. He really was the gold standard - carving out a career 252-118-2 record. Also under his leadership, the Warriors won a state title to close out the millenium in 1999.
Just two head coaches in 49 seasons - very Steelerish.
However, the seasons since Rardin have not been nearly as kind to the Warrior program. Head coach Nick Alexander returns for his sophomore season to see if he can rekindle the fires of Walsh Warrior football that burned so brightly just a few years ago.
