I hope this kid can stay healthy because he seems to have a lot of the desirable traits that NFL coaches. Jamel Dean certain has the size and speed to play on Sundays.
You all remember Jamel's story, don't you? He was recruited to play at Ohio State, but left Columbus due to a failed physical from previous knee injury. Went to Auburn, where he endured two more knee injuries. He finally saw the field last year - and was productive.
He is talented - there is no denying that. But the inescapable fact is that he has had THREE knee surgeries already. That does not disqualify him in my book. But I won't go get him any time sooner than the fifth round. I think that is where I would be comfortable assuming the risk of re-injury.
