All the testing procedures put in place have kept the NFL from having a COVID outbreak - until now. 8 members of the Tennessee Titans (5 players and 3 staffers) tested positive this week. Because of the tracking technology, The NFL is confident they have contained the outbreak.
As a result of this the Titans have closed their facilities until Saturday. Which poses a problem, as they we due to host the Steelers on Sunday. I don't think there is any way they can host that game on schedule.
The NFL has just announced an official postponement of the Sunday with no concrete date in place yet for the rescheduled game. There are two scenarios in play to reschedule the game that I am aware of:
Option A - Move the game to Monday night 10/5.
Option B - Move the game to Tuesday night 10/6.
Stay tuned.
What really pisses me off about the Titans's situation is they now have 23 players/staff positive. As the investigation unfolds, it is looking more and more they broke established NFL protocols and held unauthorized workouts.
So, why in God's name is the NFL trying to dance around the schedule and inconvenience other teams for their benefit?
WTF??? They broke the rules - piss on them. If the NFL wants to make an example out of someone - hit them where it hurts the most. Fine them heavily, take away draft picks, AND force the Titans to forfeit the game.
Problem solved - and a deterrent to other clubs.
